It’s been a couple of years since Lizzo released her third studio album Cuz I Love You, a breakthrough project that originally saw 11 tracks with additional features from Missy Elliott and Gucci Mane — deluxe versions of the project later added on additional collaborations alongside DaBaby, AB6IX, and Ariana Grande. In addition to earning Lizzo a Platinum certification, Cuz I Love You also boasts chart-topping singles like “Truth Hurts,” “Good As Hell,” “Juice,” “Tempo,” and the title track.

Following some obvious hints on Tik Tok and other social media platforms over the past week or so, today (August 13) sees Lizzo unearthing a brand new track titled “Rumors,” a collaboration alongside Cardi B that sees the two addressing the proverbial white noise:

“They don’t know I do it for the culture, goddamn, they say I should watch the shit I post, oh, goddamn, say I’m turnin’ big girls into hoes, oh, goddamn, they say I get groupies at my shows, oh, goddamn, all the rumors are true, yeah...”

In addition to Lizzo, fans have been waiting patiently for a new album from Cardi B — especially given the fact that her big debut, Invasion of Privacy, made landfall back in 2018. That tour de force of a project saw 13 songs with contributions from Migos, Chance The Rapper, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Kehlani, 21 Savage, YG, and SZA — in addition to topping the Billboard 200 thanks to 255,000 album equivalent units, Invasion of Privacy has since past the double Platinum park. That isn’t to say that Cardi hasn’t been dropping dope records after — future classics like “Money,” “Please Me” with Bruno Mars, “Press,” “WAP,” and “Up” have been keeping us all well-fed.

Press play on the grandiose, superpowered visual for Lizzo and Cardi B’s “Rumors” below. It’s a safe bet that Lizzo has a new body of work arriving sooner than later.
