The pair’s first-ever collab drops this Friday (Aug. 13).

Lizzo has enlisted Cardi B for her next song, “Rumors.” After announcing her comeback single earlier this month, the “Good As Hell” songstress has now revealed that the track will feature none other than the Bronx-bred star.

Taking to Instagram on Monday (Aug. 9), Lizzo shared a video of her FaceTime calling a mystery contact named “‘Rumors’ Feat…” in her phone. Cardi B, just waking up, answered the call.

“Good morning muthafucka!” Lizzo said.

“That’s who it’s featuring y’all, period,” she added before joking, “It’s Harry Styles!”

Lizzo confirmed the collab in a second post, under which Cardi commented, “We really did that.”

“Rumors,” which is due this Friday (Aug. 13), will mark the first collaboration between Lizzo and Cardi. The former artist almost cameoed in Cardi and Megan Thee Stallion’s “WAP” video, but was unable to make the shoot.

“I’m cool with Lizzo and everything. Like, we’ve been sending DMs to each other and all that, but she was on vacation and she wasn’t in town,” Cardi explained to Hot 97 last year.

As reported by REVOLT, Cardi and Megan celebrated the raunchy hit’s one-year anniversary over the weekend and hinted at another possible collaboration.

“Wow I can’t believe wappity ‘WAP’ turned one today. It don’t even feel like it. What a record!” Cardi tweeted on Sunday (Aug. 8). “[Megan Thee Stallion] we should do it again sometime.”

“Happy WAPIVERSARY,” Hot Girl Meg added. “Thank you for having me.”

A year after its release, “WAP” has been certified six-times Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. The track was also the first female rap collaboration in history to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 according to Chart Data.

For Lizzo fans, “Rumors” will mark the first song they’ve heard from the star since she released her Grammy Award-winning album Cuz I Love You back in 2019.
