Last month, Tobe Nwigwe released his latest project Cincoriginals, which saw 14 tracks and additional assists from EARTHGANG, Big K.R.I.T., Royce da 5’9”, Black Thought, Trae Tha Truth, Killa Kyleon, D Smoke, and more. This past weekend, the Houston emcee unveiled another visual from the album for “PISTOL,” which features fellow Texan Bun B and Atlanta lyricist Cyhi. As one might expect, the collaborators deliver rewind-worthy bars over production from LaNell Grant:

“You know the gun go click pow pow, sit down, child, and let me teach a lesson, he who oversees the blessings, specialize in repossessions, be cautious when you use discretion/

’Cause you never know, if yo’ position ain’t near the son then you’ll never grow, it’s hard to get things through ya head if it’s never combed, my paw-paw used to tell me often I should never loan.../”

As with previous clips, the video for “PISTOL” is a beautiful orchestrated combination of bold colors, choreographed dancing, and a cameo from Nwigwe’s wife Fat. Everyone wears red throughout, with Bun B and Cyhi donning different guns as a reference to the song’s title.

“PISTOL” follows previously released visuals for “BOZOS,” “FATHER FIGURE,” “HEADSHOTS,” “PURPLE RAIN THING,” “CUJO,” and “TUNDAH FIYAH.” In addition to Cincoriginals, 2020 also saw another project from Tobe Nwigwe titled The Pandemic Project, an obvious nod to the current chaos we’re all still living in.

In related news, Tobe Nwigwe will be joining the likes of D-Nice, The O’Jays, Rapsody, Step Afrika, Leslie Jones, Step Afrika, the Texas Southern University Debate Team, Frankie Beverly and several U.S. senators and representatives in Washington, D.C. for the Terrence J-hosted “We Are One” event, one of many to take place in celebration of Joe Biden’s presidential inauguration.
