It’s clear that Young Thug and his Young Stoner Life collective isn’t ready to end the year without some new heat for the winter months. Today, Thugger, Gunna, and Yak Gotti teamed up to release the Wheezy and London on da Track-produced cut “Take It To Trial,” a mix between the usual rockstar bars and not-so-thinly veiled messages for law enforcement:

I just bought my young bitch a watch and now she wildin’, stylin’, profilin’, you bitches can’t devour, and I’m Creflo Dollar smilin’, we somewhere on an island, vibin’, balls smell like powder, fuck it, take it to trial/”

The visual comes courtesy of Silver Spoon and begins with an old man being wheeled to a table where Young Thug sits, perhaps to sign over wealth of some sort. The rest of the clip mixes between different locations — Thug can be seen in a luxury whip with a beautiful woman during a traffic stop, Yak Gotti is apparently stuck in the house with his children’s mother, and Gunna is in a room with his crew and a lot of money and drugs. Simply put, viewers are witnessing young stoner life in full effect.

This year also saw Young Thug connecting with Chris Brown for the well-received Slime & B mixtape back in May, which saw 13 tracks and additional appearances from Major Nine, Shad da God, Future, Lil Durk, Too $hort, E-40, and more. Not to be outdone, that same month also saw Gunna liberating his second studio album WUNNA, which saw an additional deluxe upgrade in July and altogether contained collaborations alongside the likes of Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, Travis Scott, NAV, and Lil Uzi Vert. WUNNA proved to be one of 2020’s best-selling projects, scoring 111,000 album equivalent units during its first week out and earning Gunna a number one placement on the Billboard 200.
