The Jamaican star’s latest sees production from Karey Records.

Over the weekend, Popcaan decided to deliver some positive vibes in the form of his latest single “Live Some Life,” a Karey Records-produced effort that essentially sees him flexing his wealth while stressing the importance of a work-life balance:

“Killy them out, weh ‘pon the outside, jet ski wave, we say boat ride, girl a massage me ‘pon the beach side, I’m so rich, bees hive, rolling like Pablo Escobar, them never want, poppy reach so far, big spaceship, a no Grand Vitara, I’m not playing like guitar, work hard day and night, so me haffi live some life, yeah … skillful, work hard day and night, deejay haffi live some life…”

The visual for “Live Some Life” comes courtesy of director Florian Joahn and the media outlet Daily Paper, and begins with a shot of Popcaan on the beach next to his motorcycle. The clip then shows the Jamaican star in different settings, from a bike ride with his crew to a packed party.

“Live Some Life” follows an incredible run of singles, features, and quick-strike releases that we’ve heard from the OVO collaborator thus far in 2021 — “Cream” with Frahcess One, “Win,” “Best/Blessed,” “Jungle Justice (Part Twice),” “Medal,” and “Survivor” are just some of what Popcaan has liberated to the masses. Last year saw the release of his fourth studio LP Fixtape, which featured 19 tracks and plenty of contributions from Stylo G, Dane Ray, Drake, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Masicka, Tommy Lee, Jada Kingdom, and more. Months after Fixtape would make landfall, Popcaan would then team up with Preme for the EP Link Up, which contained collaborations alongside BEAM, French Montana, Davido, and Wiz Khalifa over six tracks.

Press play on “Live Some Life” below. Given the timeframe, it’s hopeful that a new body of work from Popcaan lies somewhere on the horizon.
