Popcaan is keeping a high work ethic for 2021, having already released visuals for “Relevant,” “Cream,” “SMOKED OUT,” and “Jah Love” a month and a half into the year. This past weekend, he added to that with his latest clip for “Win,” an inspirational effort that speaks to claiming victory over the Alvin Brown Beats-produced cut:

“Although day life yah nuh easy, know seh wi haffi win, yeah e, people Downtown weh ah sell pon di street, yeah, know seh wi haffi win, who ah work pon truck, inna garbage bin, yeah, know seh wi haffi win, youths dem inna di shop weh ah do di buzz trim, yeah, know seh dem haffi win…/”

Directed by Dollaz, the video starts with a young basketball player meeting up with his team for a basketball game, with a well-dressed Popcaan revealed as the team’s coach. After a heated match-up, the Unruly squad win the championship and the video ends on a powerful quote from legendary athlete Usain Bolt — “The sky has no limits, neither should you.”

In addition to “Win,” Popcaan also released a new single titled “Medal,” a Jamie YVP-produced cut that sees him continuing the winner’s theme by making references to trophies, medals, and reaching the “finish line”:

“Put mi foot inna di starter block, when mi run outta dat, people catch heart attack, see di finish line, mi nah go ever stop…/”

Last year, Popcaan released the OVO Sound-backed project FIXTAPE, which saw 19 tracks and additional assists from Stylo G, Drake, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Masicka, Frahcess One, his Link Up collaborator Preme, French Montana, and more. Fans also got a “deluxe” version of the project — titled YIY CHANGE FIXTAPE — that jumped the tracklisting to 32 songs.

Fans can press play on both “Medal” and the visual for “Win” below.
