Back in April, AJ Tracey dropped off his sophomore LP Flu Game, which sees 16 tracks with additional assists from NAV, Digga D, Kehlani, Millie Go Lightly, SahBabii, MoStack, and more. Following visuals from said project for “Anxious,” “West Ten,” and “Little More Love” comes another for “Summertime Shootout,” Tracey’s collaboration with T-Pain that sees the two eschewing relationship woes for some warm weather summertime vibes:
“Check me out, check me out, through all these complications, I could never be in doubt, man, I’ll figure it out, bro, I’m chippin’ it down, how can I complain, it’s hot outside, there’s women in town, either swim or you drown, need that mash, brodie’s bringin’ it ‘round, this G-Trace with the limitless sound, I was searchin’ for an answer, baby, look what I found, nowadays I’m the big dawg, I’m visitin’ pounds...”
The accompanying clip for the AoD and Nyge-produced cut comes courtesy of KC Locke and begins with a plane in the sky — presumably the one that “brought” T-Pain to Tracey’s location. The rest of the video sees the collaborators enjoying themselves at a mansion pool party, complete with dice games, old-school lowriders, a McSpicy food truck, an abundance of drinks, and — of course — plenty of beautiful people to live it up with. Fellow rap peers like Unknown T and SL make appearances as well.
In related news, AJ Tracey recently joined the Damon Albarn-led band Gorillaz for a performance at London’s O2 Arena, where they debuted their new song “Jimmy Jimmy” with the aid of the Mangrove Steelband. Jelani Blackman and Alicai Harley also provided support for the event, which was held for National Health Service workers and their loved ones as a thank you for their work during the still-active COVID-19 pandemic.
