“So I bought you a house in the DR. Yessir, that’s how we coming, pool on the roof. God is good.”

In an appreciation post shared the following morning (Oct. 12), Cardi revealed that her gift was confirmation that Offset had been listening to her plans to invest in “short term home rental properties in the DR and other Caribbean countries.” She thanked him for listening to her ideas and working with her father to make the surprise happen. “You and my dad are the most important men in my life, and it makes me so happy that you guys are close and have your own bond and relationship,” she penned.

Cardi first announced plans for her celebration over the weekend. “I can’t wait for my birthday passa passa party!!!!!….Ya think LA ready?!!” she teased fans on Instagram. In a follow-up post, she shared that the dress code was “dancehall” and featured photos to help inspire someone’s outfit. “Bring your best Caribbean looks,” she added.

Though videos from the event showed the party was a lit one, Cardi took to Twitter to reveal that she barely made it through the night.

“Last night I was a bit disappointed in myself. I had a slight headache & took 3 shots of tequila on a empty stomach. Every time I danced felt like I was gonna faint. STRUGGLING,” she wrote. “Thank god my girls held me down! Hennessy, Spice, Megan, Normani & Shenseea! Baby I couldn’t hang.”
