Last April, Travis Scott broke some serious ground in the digital age by hosting a full-on concert within the highly popular game Fortnite, performing old and new cuts for the virtual attendees. Fast forward to 2021, and past collaborator Post Malone has decided to take to a 3-D stage of his own in celebration of Pokémon’s 25th anniversary. The short set was live-streamed this past weekend on multiple platforms and also featured many of Pokémon’s more popular characters throughout a series of amazing fantastical locations.

During the roughly 15-minute set, Malone delivered dope renditions of hit songs “Psycho,” “Circles,” and “Congratulations,” the last of which originally featured an assist from Migos’ member Quavo (and Future if you count the song’s remix). The Texas star also performed his previously released cover of Hootie & the Blowfish’s “Only Wanna Be With You,” utilizing a Pokémon Gold and Silver while a Charizard and a Groudon danced nearby. The clip is certainly something that both fans of the video game series and Post Malone can — and did — certainly enjoy.

This year will also see a release Pokémon 25: The Album, a compilation project released via P25 Music — Pokémon’s partnership entity with Republic/Universal. The body of work will see 14 songs from the likes of Malone, Katy Perry, and J Balvin. The world can expect the forthcoming release sometime in October.

Malone’s last album, Hollywood’s Bleeding, was released back in 2019 and saw 17 tracks with additional appearances from DaBaby, Halsey, Meek Mill, Lil Baby, Ozzy Osbourne, SZA, Swae Lee, Young Thug, and more. Hollywood’s Bleeding was every bit the chart-topping success, taking pole position on the Billboard 200 thanks to 489,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week of release.
