Back in June, Saweetie delivered one of her biggest hits to date with “Tap In,” which to date has climbed within the top 50 of the Billboard Hot 100. Now, that song gets an upgrade with a big name remix, which sees additional contributions from Post Malone, DaBaby, and Jack Harlow — all of whom show and prove over Dr. Luke’s sample of Too $hort’s classic “Blow The Whistle” instrumental:

“I just crossed over the top 40, I can’t even say what’s poppin’ now ‘cause it got corny, jeweler just hit me, said he got some new rocks for me, when they asked me to do this verse, know I got horny/

I know I can count on my shorty, she’ll go the extra mile, over the top for me, I ain’t at the club, I’m in the house but I’m not Cory, it’s a Victorian, they built it with five stories…/”

Currently, Saweetie is pushing the finishing touches on her forthcoming album Pretty B***h Music. Prior to that, she released her two EPs High Maintenance and Icy in 2018 and 2019, respectively, the latter of which saw seven tracks and a couple of appearances from her real life significant other Quavo.

Last week, the California star appeared on “Desus & Mero,” during which she defended her use of sampling on songs like “Tap In” and “My Type,” which took from Petey Pablo’s 2004 smash “Freek-a-Leek.”

“Hip hop is built off of sampling so when they come for me I’m just like y’all just picking on me so whatever. Too $hort loved it. The old heads loved it. So, it’s whatever. I love it. I’m happy [‘Tap In’] has taken off the way it’s taken off.”
