Post Malone has joined forces with Pokémon for an upcoming virtual concert, Billboard announced today (Feb. 11). The “Circles” rapper is set to headline the show, which will celebrate the franchise’s 25th anniversary and take place on Pokémon Day, Feb. 27.

“I’ve been a fan for such a long time, kind of grew up with it. Celebrating 25 years is a big deal, so we decided to do it together,” Malone, who turned 25 back in July, told the outlet.

“The Pokémon team put in so much work. This is one of the coolest things I’ve been a part of,” he added. “There may be some surprises, too. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Malone’s concert will also serve as the official kickoff for an entire series of Pokémon-celebrating events called P25 Music, which the brand launched in partnership with Universal Music Group. According to a press statement, the series will commemorate Pokémon video games, mobile apps and more with “artist-involved” content all throughout the year.

On the Saturday before the concert (Feb. 20), The Pokémon Company International will also host a Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto event. Then, on Feb. 25, the brand will distribute a password to players that they can use to add a special Pikachu to their “Pokémon Sword” and “ Pokémon Shield” games.

“In keeping with the music theme for the year, this Pikachu knows the move Sing, which it can’t ordinarily learn,” the press release explained.

On the day of the concert, the company will also release a curated selection of “music-themed” Pokémon episodes, which fans can watch on the Pokémon TV website or app.
