For all those who believed Megan Thee Stallion lied about getting shot, there is now official proof!

On Wednesday (Aug. 19), the “Savage” rapper uploaded a photo of her injured foot with a caption that provides some more details of the shooting as well as some of the lessons she learned while recovering.

“What I have learned about majority of the people on social media is y’all like to hear bad news before good news, a lie spreads quicker than the truth, and y’all really be believing the shit YALL make up,” Meg began. “I got hit at the back of my feet because when I got shot I was WALKING AWAY FACING THE BACK. Why would I lie about getting shot? Why are y’all so upset that I don’t wanna be in the bed sad? Why y’all upset that I can walk?”

Though no explanation was necessary, Meg shared her reasons for going out during her recovery phase, making sure to stress that a wound is not enough to keep her down! “I got my stitches out my feet like 2 weeks ago and I was ready to go celebrate WAP going number 1,” she said. “I usually don’t address internet bullshit but y’all people are so sick! God was really watching over me and I’m healing so well! Sorry I’m not as sad and miserable as a lot of y’all lol but ima keep being Megan Thee Mf STALLION.”

On July 15, following inaccurate reports surrounding Meg’s involvement in Tory Lanez’s arrest three days prior, she addressed the rumors in an Instagram post and admitted to being shot multiple times.

The shooting became the focus of social media posts, some of which sent well wishes to the star. The other half, unfortunately, poked fun at the traumatic event.

After taking some time to heal, Meg hopped on Instagram Live to address the incident once again as well as the social media users who had something to say.

“I was shot in both of my feet, and I had to get surgery to get the shit taken out—get the bullets taken out. And it was super scary,” she said. “Oh Lord, I didn’t think I was gonna cry. But yeah, I had to get surgery. It was super scary, it was just the worst experience of my life.”

“It’s not funny,” she continued. “It’s nothing to joke about. It was nothing for y’all to start going and making up fake stories about. I didn’t put my hands on nobody. I didn’t deserve to get shot. I didn’t do shit.”

Meg expressed her gratitude for surviving the incident with no broken bones, attributing that to her late parents and grandmother.

“It’s not that I was protecting anybody, I just wasn’t ready to speak,” she clarified at the time. “That’s not no shit that you immediately get on the internet and start talking about.”
