Megan Thee Stallion is riding high off the upgraded version of the Suga hit “Savage,” which now features Beyoncé. Currently, the single sits comfortably at the number two spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Today, the Texas star adds to the momentum by revealing an animated visual for the original track, which takes on the feel of a classic video game. Within the Jude MC-directed clip, a 3D version of Megan can be seen infiltrating and taking down an evil corporation that apparently produces dancing robots. Simply put, it makes much more sense when you watch it.

Speaking to the Guardian, Megan Thee Stallion spoke on how the collaboration with Beyoncé came together:

“I got a call: Beyoncé wants to do a remix to “Savage”… And I was like … what? Shut up. Shut up. You’re lying. Beyoncé don’t want to get on nothing with me. Come on, it’s me! I know I’m Megan Thee Stallion, but dang! You grow up and you friggin’ watch Destiny’s Child, and you go to the rodeo to see them perform … you don’t grow up and think you’re gonna meet Be-yon-cé! When I heard the song for the first time I was like: no. And it’s only like, year two? And we on quarantine? Who does that?”

In related news, Megan Thee Stallion has also partnered with Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty brand, posing for the lingerie line’s Summer 2020 campaign, and — as was already seen via her social media pictures and videos — it’s already begun shutting down the internet in swift fashion. She spoke on the collaboration, which Rihanna stamped as the “energy we were looking for”:

“I’m so excited to work with a brand that embodies diversity and celebrates women in all their glory… In my Savage x Fenty, I feel sexy, comfortable and confident. We want all the hotties around the world to feel good about themselves exactly as they are.”
