Shenseea is back. This past weekend, the Jamaican star released her new single titled “Run Run,” a Di Genius-produced cut that sees her harmonizing about a certain someone that’s got her hooked physically, much to her chagrin:

“Me nuh like when me want you, and can’t get you me ringin’ down your phone, just fi get some a the good love, weh make me tremble and ah moan, lose control if me get a scent weh similar to your cologne...”

“Run Run” also sees an accompanying visual courtesy of Christian Breslauer, which starts off with a Mad Max-esque scene of Shenseea and her girls chasing down a man trying to escape with what’s presumably the artist’s own heart. He is unsuccessful, and soon finds himself locked in a cage and strapped to a platform descending into a lava pit. After the apparent straightening, Shenseea’s love interest seems to fully submit to her near the clip’s end.

The past year or so has seen a string of top quality releases from Shenseea, including “Potential Man,” “The Sidechick Song,” “Bad Habit,” “Wasabi,” “Sure Sure,” and “Upset.” In addition to solo drops, that same timeframe saw her collaborating on tracks like “IDKW” with Swae Lee, Rvssian, and Young Thug, “Rock The Floor” with Ding Dong, the Romeich-backed cut “We Rise” with Konshens, Teejay, Tarrus Riley, and more, “Silver Tongue Devil” with Masego, “No Limit” with Moyann, and “Rebel (Remix)” with Stefflon Don. Those not familiar with her lyrical ability can also check out her inclusion into last year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards alongside Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Skip Marley, and Koffee — she’s also fairly recently obliterated the instrumentals for SpotemGottem’s “Beat Box” and Young T and Bugsey’s “Don’t Rush.” The only thing missing is a full-length project, which will hopefully be arriving sooner than later.
