Earlier this year, ELHAE shared singles like “Separated” and “Fun Fact Ballad,” and now he is back to present his new Masego-assisted song “My City.” “Just in time for Spring,” he says as he unleashes the cut, which is extremely fitting for the breezy vibe of the track. On the new song, ELHAE rides the smooth groovy beat after Masego’s hook:

I got some time, I’m tryna spend it (Spend it), uh/ My tank on full, it’s never empty (Empty), yeah/ You can tell the truth, makin’ love the fuel (Uh) I got the juice to put it simply (Ha). Way too up right now, it’s hard to turn mе down (Ooh, ooh-ooh), uh/

Slidin’ in the coupe, shawty wanna paint the town (Ooh, ooh-ooh)/ Got thе engine in the trunk, it don’t make a sound/ Get whatever you want, shawty, I’ma ice you out

ELHAE also shared a bit about how the song wound up coming together. “I called Masego on FaceTime one day asking if he wanted to be a part of this next project. We’ve always talked about working but never got a chance to really make it happen due to scheduling and what not,” he said press statement. “Fortunately, and unfortunately due to COVID, time was all we had. Masego had the beat and the hook done already so it was up to me to provide the rest. I reached out to my good friend Ari to help as well and it was done.”

In 2020, ELHAE dropped off plenty of track for fans to enjoy, including “Fun Fact” featuring Rick Ross, “Perks” featuring Eric Bellinger, “Need To Know,” and assisted Krono on “Can’t Make Me Drive.” Masego’s last body of work was November’s Studying Abroad EP, which included features from Don Toliver and Shenseea. The project was led by the Toliver-assisted “Mystery Lady” single.
