Tobe Nwigwe has shared another masterpiece of a visual, this time for his “Passing Through” track. The newly released video is co-directed by Tobe Nwigwe and Nate Edwards and features visually stunning scenes of Tobe and his co-stars in a park dressed in all white. “Passing Through” was initially featured on Juneteenth: Freedom Songs by Apple Music. On the song, Nwigwe spits some truth over production courtesy of Nell:

This world is not my home, I’m just a-passing through, my treasures are laid up, somewhere beyond the blue/ Black angels beckon me, from heaven’s open door I ain’t on what y’all on no more/ This for those shot dead in the land of the living

I pray the ‘hood in the sky got streets wit’ gold trimmings and the linens on yo’ back cover sins that’s forgiven and you see He who risen has the skin that’s forbidden/ ‘Cause oh, how life seems black and white

Back in December, Tobe Nwigwe unveiled Cincoriginals, a 14-track masterpiece that saw additional appearances from the likes of Trae Tha Truth, Killa Kyleon, Bun B, Cyhi The Prynce, D SmokeBlack Thought, Royce da 5’9”, Big K.R.I.T., and — of course — Tobe’s wife Fat and go-to producer LaNell Grant. Since then, the Houston emcee has continued to bless fans with visuals from the well-received released, as well as loose cuts like “A Million,” “Wake Up Everybody,” and “A Revealing Freestyle.”

In 2020, he also dropped off The Pandemic Project as a way to share his art during the crazy times we are all in. Pandemic In related news, Tobe Nwigwe joined the likes of D-Nice, The O’Jays, Rapsody, Step Afrika, Leslie Jones, Step Afrika, the Texas Southern University Debate Team, Frankie Beverly and several U.S. senators and representatives in Washington, D.C. for the Terrence J-hosted “We Are One” event.
