Following an impressive 2020, Moneybagg Yo makes his first official entry into the not-so-new year with “Time Today,” a bass heavy number that sees production from YC and RealRed and keeps with the “message to the haters” vibe of “Said Sum”:

“I just looked at my wrist, I got time today, fuck it, I’m crossin’ a line today, the hate be so real, the love be fake, be bumpin’ they gums and bumpin’ my tape/

Don’t go against me then ask for my help, go get out your feelings and get it yourself, might got the same shoes but you ain’t gon’ stop, the shit that you just put out, you could’ve kept, yep/”

Moneybagg Yo kicked off the top of last year with his third studio album Time Served, which saw 15 tracks and additional appearances from Lil Baby, his Code Red crony Blac Youngsta, Future, DaBaby, Summer Walker, Fredo Bang, and Megan Thee Stallion. The project landed the Memphis rapper at the number three spot on the Billboard 200 thanks to an impressive 66,000 units sold during its first week of release — Time Served has since earned a Gold certification as well. Months later, Moneybagg would then release a deluxe version of the album with seven additional cuts.

Perhaps coincidentally, Moneybagg Yo is also in the news because of his relationship to Ari Fletcher, or lack thereof. This week, she took to social media to reveal that said relationship has soured — initially in response to another tweet from Moneybagg himself:

Whether or not the above tweets and the new release are intertwined is yet to be soon.

Either way, fans can press play on Moneybagg Yo’s “Time Today” below. If you missed it, you can also check out his recent collaboration with Babyface Ray — titled “If You Know You Know” — here.
