First, the best news a fan of Westside Boogie can hear — the Compton star recently posted a picture of him in the studio with Eminem, revealing that a new album is officially on the way. Looking to keep the momentum going, last week saw Boogie drop off a new freestyle over YN Jay and Louie Ray’s “Coochie,” complete with clever, multi-layered bars about women and street life:

“The homie told me ‘bout a scam he tryna run back, I ain’t gon’ lie, I kinda think that he want Trump back, heard you was that nigga that don’t ever pay the plug back, heard you was that nigga always askin’, ‘Where my hugs at?’ Who gave a Draco to my youngin from the gang? Got his head up in the clouds, I knew nothin’ was the same, you could look up in the field, through the mud and the terrain, and you still won’t find no dirt up on my name…”

The accompanying clip for “Coochie Freestyle” shows Boogie with a few compadres in a hole in the wall food spot, enjoying good eats and getting dance moves off in the restaurant’s kitchen. It’s a perfect clip that allows Boogie’s bars to shine above all else.

Way back in 2019, Boogie dropped his debut album Everythings for Sale, a 13-track project that saw additional appearances from 6LACK, JID, Eminem, Christian Scott, Snoh Aalegra, and Shaé Universe. Since then, we’ve received a slew of dope freestyles from the Shady Records signee — “Expose Me,” “Joe Exotic,” and “Whoopty” are a sampling of what’s been released. In addition to the new single “Outside” with Joey BADA$$, Boogie could also be seen delivering a show-stealing verse on LVRN’s Rap Caviar cypher alongside 6LACK, BRS Kash, NoonieVsEverybody, and OMB Bloodbath.
