Dave East continues to keep the streets fed with dope cuts about real life being from New York. For his latest, he connects with rising star and fellow Harlemite Quany Gz for the hard-hitting collaboration “Never Had Shit,” which is produced by Cito On The Beat and sees the two artists rapping about money, women, and gang life:

“I know n***as doing life for a body, it wasn’t safe, you could die in the lobby, yellow Louis belt, this ain’t karate, knockin’ Pac, n***a, Killuminati, trip to DR, my bitch bought a body, came to New York, her ass bigger/

Michael Myers, I be stabbin’ ‘em, shit gon’ change when that bag get ‘em, running through Louis Vuitton, they ain’t got my size, I might go to Saks, n***a…/”

Directed by Will C of StreetHeat, Dave East and Quany Gz are seen mobbing heavy in different locations somewhere in the Big Apple, flexing cash, high end gear, and Maseratis for added effect. Presumably, the duo and their respective crews weren’t too worried about the pandemic during the shoot that took place.

This past June, Quany Gz released the solo project Found My Way, which saw 10 tracks and additional appearances from East, FH Snoop, Chicken Seig, OG Jazz, and Kiing Shooter, the last of whom tragically passed on back in May. Meanwhile, Dave East liberated the third installment of his well-received Karma mixtape series in August, which saw 15 tracks and assists from Mary J. Blige, Popcaan, Trey Songz, Trouble, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Young Dolph, Benny The Butcher, and more. A deluxe version of Karma 3 made landfall in October, adding on eight additional cuts and new collabs with the likes of DeJ Loaf, G Herbo, Junior Reid, Chris Brown, and Jeezy, who appeared on the remix of the project opener “Handsome.”
