We will soon be crossing the three year mark since Westside Boogie released his official debut album Everythings for Sale, a critically acclaimed masterpiece that consisted of 13 multi-layered, emotionally charged songs and contributions from JID, 6LACK, Christian Scott, Shaé Universe, Snoh Aalegra, and (Shady Records head honcho) Eminem, who provided his own show-stopping talents on the now-classic standout “Rainy Days.” Much of the time since has seen the Compton emcee dropping off a regular stream of short-but-top tier freestyles over instrumentals for Moneybagg Yo’s “Said Sum,” CJ’s “Whoopty,” YN Jay and Louie Ray’s “Coochie.” and more. Last December, Boogie then made his official return with the single “Outside,” a collaboration alongside Joey BADA$$ — he more recently followed that with the Mamii-assisted “Float,” further raising hopes that a new album was close by.

Earlier this week, Boogie kept things going with a soulful offering titled “Contradictions,” which sounds like a realization of the different sides within oneself in regards to relationships:

“I let you see my true colors, you tried to say I ain’t fit it, I’m always matching and mixing, my pattern’s never consistent, I almost thought you was trying and that’s what got me conflicted, you know you a contradiction, it’s time you admit it, like, do whatever for fam, or do I just say I got limits, do I fall out with my niggas or should we speak through detention…”

“Contradictions” was revealed via a black-and-white visual, which shows Boogie performing the track with his bad. If anything, this proves that, in addition to a need for a new body of work, we can also use a tour from the LVRN talent as well.

Press play on Westside Boogie’s “Contradictions” performance below. We’ve already seen an Instagram post with Boogie and Eminem green-lighting a sophomore LP — hopefully, more details on that will arrive soon.
