After putting in work for over a decade, Drake’s new Christmas gift has made him realize just how successful he’s become.

On Friday (Dec. 25), the “Toosie Slide” rapper hit up his Instagram Stories to show off a sentimental Christmas gift he received from his uncle. In his post, Drake includes a photo of the first royalty check he ever got back in 2007. The check for $304 from SOCAN is framed along with a commemorative certificate.

“My uncle found and gifted me my first earnings from music,” Drake wrote under the photo. “Came a long way from 3 bills in royalties.”

While the gift clearly means a lot to him, Drake doesn’t necessarily need a Christmas present to remind him of how successful he is. While his banger “Laugh Now Cry Later” continues to rule the radio airwaves, Drizzy’s prominent catalog of music will grow in the New Year as he prepares to release his next album Certified Lover Boy on New Year’s Day.

Not only is he in album mode, but Drake is also working on his hustles outside of music. The rapper is planning to release a fresh line of candles that smells like him. The candle line is comprised of five scents including one called Carby Musk. The fragrance is described as “introspective as in an interpretation of your beautiful self, yet extrovertive as how you would want others to see your bold and brilliant self. Features notes of Musk, Ambers, Cashmere, Suede, and Velvet. Actually smells like Drake — it’s the personal fragrance he wears.”

The Canadian emcee is also wealthy enough to raffle off his own money at the “Euphoria” wrap party earlier this month. According to the show’s lead actress Zendaya, Drake was able to hook up several crew members with some cash.
