As the release date for Drake’s sixth studio album Certified Lover Boy gets closer, the Toronto-born star has decided to tease fans with a few more details about the upcoming LP. Over the weekend, Drake popped into his dad Dennis Graham’s Instagram Live session to respond to one comment from a fan.

The fan, who reposted his interaction with Drizzy, praised the rapper’s fourth studio album, Views. Inside his father’s Instagram Live, Drake acknowledged the comment and compared the 2016 effort to his forthcoming Certified Lover Boy.

“They hated on Views just like they will [Certified Lover Boy],” Drake wrote, adding, “but it’s music to evolve to.”

The excited fan reposted Drake’s comment, writing, “Drake actually responded to me, fu*kin respect to da almighty [goat]. I told Drake ‘Views be hittin different’ in his dad’s live, and he gave me some closure on how Certified Lover Boy gon’ sound.”

While celebrating his 34th birthday last month, Drizzy announced that Certified Lover Boy will arrive this January — pushing past his initial summer release. The four-time Grammy Award winner revealed the new drop date by recreating his album covers from past projects like So Far Gone, Take Care, Nothing Was the Same and Dark Lane Demo Tapes.

Drake has been working on his next effort for awhile. Earlier this year, he shared with Diddy how the pandemic has focused his sound.

“Obviously, God has us all inside the house right now… so the amount of focus that I’m able to put into this album is probably way different than it would’ve been…” Drake told the REVOLT Chairman. “… Definitely, this is the most excited I’ve been about an album in a long time.”

Solo music isn’t all that Drizzy has been working on, either. Chris Brown spilled the beans on a potential joint project with the rapper during his recent chat with Fat Joe.

“We got some songs,” Breezy said. “We definitely got some songs.”
