Diddy’s dance-a-thon Instagram Live fundraiser was a star-studded event, with Cardi B, Offset, Tracee Ellis Ross, 2 Chainz, Megan Thee Stallion, Michelle Obama, Naomi Campbell and more pulling up to raise over $4 million for healthcare workers. One of those virtually attending celebs was Drake, who also chopped it up with Diddy about preserving through these uncertain times and answered a few questions about his highly anticipated album.

“Tell us about what you’re working on in the studio,” Diddy prompted.

“I’m working on the album, I’ve been working on it for awhile now,” Drake revealed. “Another silver lining [to social distancing] is when God does get you to sit down — I remember the last time I had to sit down was when I tore my ACL, and I made a great album out of that.”

“Obviously, God has us all inside the house right now, sitting down, so the amount of focus that I’m able to put into this album is probably way different than it would’ve been, if I had to go do the residency in [Las] Vegas or be able to go meet up with Justin in Miami,” he continued.

“Definitely, this is the most excited I’ve been about an album in a long time,” Drake said. “A lot of little stuff has been trickling out, but all the stuff on the album is fresh, it’s brand new and I’m excited. This is probably the most music I’ve ever been sitting on. I’m hyped.”

As he gears up to announce more details about the project, Drizzy has recently teamed up with Future on “Life Is Good,” PartyNextDoor on “Loyal” and dropped off his solo releases, “When To Say When/ Chicago Freestyle” and “Toosii Slide.”

Speaking about the pandemic, Drake reflected on what we can all learn during self-quarantine.

“I just really want people to like, not get out after a month, and forget all these rough times that we went through,” he said. “I wold love it if we carried this energy forward. That’s a big change to the world, once we figure out this one situation.”

“We gotta use our time wisely,” Diddy agreed. “We’re not put on timeout for no reason.”

Elsewhere in their chat, Diddy also gave Drake the honor of naming him within his Top 5 all-time favorite rappers.

“I’ve been a studier of music, science, art, mathematician — the actual numbers and codes that goes into it — and so, when they talk about the Top 5… two years ago, three years ago, I didn’t know,” he said. “It’s clear, the work you put in, you’re in my official Top 5.”

“To hear that from you… you’ve seen it all, done it all,” Drake accepted. “And now, all my brothers and I are trying to do what you did.”
