Sean “Diddy” Combs knows how to throw an epic party.

On Sunday (April 12), REVOLT Media & TV’s Chairman hosted a virtual dance-a-thon on Instagram Live to help raise money for healthcare workers amid Coronavirus. To get the party started, Diddy tapped DJ D-Nice, who is no stranger when it comes to setting the mood for a memorable event.

After D-Nice played a few hits on his turntables, Diddy was joined by a healthcare worker named Khadijah Lyons, who detailed her experience working in New York during the pandemic. “It was physically and emotionally taxing,” Lyons said of her experience working in Elmhurst Hospital during Coronavirus. “This is serious. People are dying. We have to realize why we’re staying inside. People are dying.”

As time passed by, Diddy received generous donations from fans and other celebrities. Viewers were also blessed with guest appearances from La La Anthony, Winnie Harlow, Naomi Campbell and Rita Wilson, the latter of which was caught Coronavirus last month with her husband, Tom Hanks, and has since recovered.

Diddy also called a handful of musicians that helped him vibe to some of today’s hottest hits. During his conversation with Burna Boy, Puff was heartbroken to learn about the lockdown in Nigeria at the moment and was left at a loss for words.

Dance extraordinaire Jennifer Lopez explained that she admired healthcare workers selflessness during this time and called them “the real heroes.” After her husband-to-be, Alex Rodriguez, shared a similar sentiment, all three New York natives bopped to the beat and rocked out to timeless Bad Boy classics.

Following J. Lo and A-Rod’s exit, Megan Thee Stallion didn’t waste much time joining the party. The “Hot Girl Summer” artist and Diddy’s daughters danced effortlessly, as they hit the moves to the “Savage Challenge,” which was inspired by the 25-year-old’s hit single from her Suga EP.

Before wrapping up the first half of the party, other A-list celebs took turns joining the live-streamed event including DJ Khaled and his son, Asahd, Kelly Rowland, LeBron James, and more. As Diddy continued to play several of his hits throughout the years, he also poked fun at the Instagram battles that have taken place over the last few weeks. The 50-year-old teased that he should be left out of the conversation due to the extent of his catalogue.

After taking a brief break, the mogul was ready to continue with the party. K Camp, Will Smith, Dwyane Wade, Gabrielle Union, Jordyn Woods, Jessica Alba, Shaquille O’Neal, Ginuwine, Justin Bieber and more joined the live session and thanked healthcare workers for their dedication. After much anticipation, Drake finally pulled up to the party and dropped gems. “There’s always a silver lining in tough times,” Drizzy said, while admitting that now is a great time for people to focus on themselves. He, for example, is using this time to work on his upcoming album. Before leaving, the Toronto native also showed off his moves to his latest hit “Toosie Slide” alongside the “Come To Me” musician and his family.

Others celeb acts who came through to show off their dance moves and praise the healthcare workers fighting Coronavirus on the frontlines included Swizz Beatz, Alicia Keys, Ludacris, Usher, Timbaland, French Montana, N.O.R.E. Tracee Ellis Ross, Tory Lanez, Ciara, Russell Wilson, Snoop Dogg, Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner, 2 Chainz, and more.

“All the money is going to the underserved communities,” Diddy affirmed multiple times during the IG Live dance-a-thon, as he spoke about the donations he was receiving during the virtual party.

Cardi B and Offset were the last special guests to join the dance-a-thon. While speaking with Diddy, the married rap couple revealed that they both have family members who are battling Coronavirus. Offset even admitted that he has an aunt who’s working as a nurse in New York City, and he’s had to pray with her and his mom over the phone to lift her spirits.

Diddy couldn’t close the dance-a-thon without issuing a few words to the people. “If you bare witness to this devastation and you’re not in it to change it, time’s up…” he said. “Blacks and Latinos, we build this country. We’re gonna start unifying… we gonna take care of each other.”

“I wanna see black people thriving… That’s one of the things I wanted to get out,” He continued. “I’m not leaving this joint until there’s change… help out somebody.”

As REVOLT readers might recall, Diddy announced last week that he was searching for a way to use his platform to help others.

“We can’t just sit back and leave our healthcare workers abandoned and unprotected. Over the next few days I’ll be locked in and focused on finding ways to directly support our healthcare workers but I don’t have all the answers. If you want to help or have any great ideas, please reach out to me now! God bless us all,” he said on IG.
