The man allegedly responsible for killing the daughter of Three 6 Mafia member Crunchy Black was taken into police custody.

Lamont Murry is accused of taking the lives of 26-year-old Ashley Carter and a man named Waquel Richardson — who is reportedly her boyfriend — at the Fairview Inn and Suites in Memphis, Tennessee on Friday (Aug. 28). Carter was in a Nissan Maxima while Richardson was in the lobby of the motel when they were struck multiple times and eventually killed.

Following the shooting, Carter’s family members were distraught as they looked for answers which were later found in a video of the crime scene.

The footage showed Murry taking off in gold Chevrolet Tahoe with a unique rear bumper. The vehicle was later discovered nearby at a Memphis home where he just so happened to be hiding out in the attic. The owner of the vehicle confessed Murry was behind the wheel of the car on the day of the shooting, noting that he tried to disguise the bumper with spray paint upon his return that night.

According to the Memphis Police Department, Murry was arrested on charges of first-degree murder and tampering with evidence. He told cops that the shooting was gang-related as he was responding to a double murder that had taken place on Aug. 14.

After learning of Carter’s death, Three 6 Mafia member Juicy J took to social media to offer condolences to Crunchy Black and his family.

“My condolences to you & your family,” Juicy captioned a photo of Crunchy and his family on Saturday (Aug. 29). “RIP Ashley Richardson.”

Neither fellow member DJ Paul or Crunchy Black have yet to break their silence on the fatal shooting.

Crunchy was a member of the Crunchy Academy Award-winning hip hop group up until 2006 when he departed over monetary disputes.
