Last year, Problem was bringing the vibes with Coffee & Kush Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, a couple of quick-strike projects that saw collaborations with the likes of Jay Rock, Jack Harlow, Tyrese, Terrace Martin, Freddie Gibbs, and Snoop Dogg. 2020 also saw the Cali emcee get creative with the short film A Compton Story, which gave viewers a look into an eventful day for the veteran talent.

This past week, Problem returned to the proverbial fold with the EP Coffee Break, which consists of four songs, including a remix of Coffee & Kush Vol. 1 standout “G Shit.” The short play also features a single contribution from fellow hometown hero Dom Kennedy on “Taking All Fades,” a flip of Kurupt’s classic “We Can Freak It” that sees Problem reflecting on his life and career:

“I been all around the world, Japan to Amsterdam, meals nutritious, lifestyle was vicious, yea, while these niggas out here tried to hate mine, yet I still stood tall on the main line, two-step, niggas throwing up they gang signs, roll around the city, big chain, but he ain’t signed, y’all fake tough, lil’ pups to my K9s ... known for gettin’ crackin’ at them Hit-Boy parties...”

Coffee Break is also presented in a “visual EP” format, another day-in-the-life vibe of sorts that starts with Problem enjoying some fresh product on his front porch. Afterwards, he gets dressed and heads out in his Rolls Royce sedan, ending up at a studio to put in work with his team. The roughly nine-minute clip ends with Problem taking to the stage an an outdoor affair, complete with cameos from Buddy, The Game, and the aforementioned Dogg Pound legend.

Press play on both an audio stream of Coffee Break and its accompanying video below. Summertime isn’t quite over yet.
