As two of the current frontrunners in hip hop right now, Lil Durk and Lil Baby have already crafted plenty of hits together — since 2018, fans have heard top quality cuts like “How I Know,” “Downfall,” “Off White VLONE” with Gunna, “3 Headed Goat” with Polo G, and “Finesse Out The Gang Way.” Most recently, the two joined DJ Khaled on the KHALED KHALED standout “EVERY CHANCE I GET.”

Today, the Chicago-to-Atlanta connection keep the chemistry going with The Voice of the Heroes, an 18-track body of work with additional contributions from Travis Scott, Meek Mill, Young Thug, and Rod Wave — the project was previously led by the self-titled opener. The closing cut, “Bruised Up,” continues to show Durk and Baby’s penchant for emotionally charged street raps, keeping things very real about how things will become for those who choose to live a criminal life:

“They left me bruised up, they tried to leave me used up, I was confused ‘cause the ones I love ain’t prove much, I did everything they lied say I ain’t do much, and they ain’t call me to plead they case, and it’d been two months, posting guns on your page, that put us all in danger, but they say I’m one of the leaders ‘cause I’m the one that’s famous...”

In addition to The Voice of the Heroes, this year also saw Durk connecting with his Only The Family collective for Loyal Bros, a compilation that also featured contributions from Lil Uzi Vert, Tee Grizzley, BIG30, Foogiano, and more. Meanwhile, Lil Baby has been blessing the with loose singles like “Real As It Gets” with EST Gee, “Ramen & OJ” with Joyner Lucas, and “We Win” with Kirk Franklin — the last of which is set to appear on Space Jam: A New Legacy.
