Presumably, Lil Yachty is just having fun with music and life these days. Last May he released his fourth studio album Lil Boat 3, which saw 19 tracks with a wealth of collaborations alongside Tierra Whack, A$AP Rocky, Tyler, The Creator, Future, Mike WiLL Made-It, DaBaby, Drake, Lil Keed, Young Thug, and Lil Durk. The project was a top 20 success for the Atlanta-based star, thanks to 30,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week of release. Months later, a deluxe edition — dubbed Lil Boat 3.5 — made landfall with eight additional cuts and new assists from Lil Baby, Vince Staples, Playboi Carti, and Oliver Tree.
Following his recent single “Hit Bout It” with Kodak Black, Yachty returns with “No More Beatboxing Freestyle,” a clever use of the instrumentals for both Coi Leray’s “No More Parties” and SpotemGottem’s “BeatBox.” The freestyle sees Yachty rapping and harmonizing about wealth, the streets, and more:
“I can tell niggas jelly by the way they look, pray to God my Glock don’t jam, Lord knows I don’t hook, pull up and I made ya look, pockets full of Oregon ducks, click on smart shooters, stick on him while readin’ books/”
Shot by AMD Visuals, the accompanying clip is essentially a tour of Lil Yachty’s residence, with shots of his furniture, living room treasures, and — inside his closet — a store’s worth of top quality kicks.
“A lot of people realized that they’ve got a lot to maintain ... Like me personally… every month I’ve got $52,000 in bills. Monthly, you know what I’m saying?”
