Tonight, the world has tuned in to the latest episode of REVOLT’s “Drink Champs,” which sees Kanye West joining N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN for a lengthy discussion about a variety of hot button subjects. Amongst the many questions asked, N.O.R.E. made sure to inquire about whether or not the man now known as just Ye would take part in a Verzuz, and the Chicago icon did not disappoint with his initial response:

“Oh absolutely! But I would need about four people to go against me at one time … I need producers, I need people who make good albums, I need people who made radio hits, I need every single Gemini specifically.”

Ye then continued after being asked about a Verzuz that would match him up against a fellow producer like Dr. Dre:

“That’s why I said it gotta be—I need to have like a month-long … just different categories, different styles … at a certain point I could be [going up against] myself, it’ll be this album against that album.”

The most important part of that segment came when N.O.R.E. asked, if he were to go up against his current nemesis Drake, who would reign triumph. The initial answer was short but very clear, and brought forth a signature “Drinks Champs” applause from the entire room — a second confirmation then saw Ye referring to a certain OVO Sound premiere of one of his unreleased tracks:

“I’m winning every situation … Yea, absolutely. But it already happened, he played one of my leaked songs and it was better than every other song this year.”

It’s no surprise that such a topic would be included in such an interview, given Kanye and Drake’s feudal back-and-forth that we witnessed over the past several months. Both of them dropped chart-topping albums in 2021 in well — Drake with Certified Lover Boy and Ye with Donda, two projects that will certainly land on “Best Of” lists at some point. Whether or not a Verzuz — or even a reconciliation — does take place is of course yet to be seen.

Check out the rest of what Ye had to say about Drake — including sharing his Toronto home address and more — above.
