J.I.D has assembled a dream team of talent for his latest single “Surround Sound.” Equipped with assists from 21 Savage and Baby Tate, J.I.D is putting his foot on the gas and prepping fans for a year of great music. On the track, the trio rides some production courtesy of DJ Scheme and Christo:

I know I can’t afford to stop for one moment, that it’s too soon too for me/ Push the fuckin’ pack off of the porch or break a pound down, get this strap if it happen to blow, it make surround sounds/ Pussycat on my lap, push it back and go to town down

Puttin’ rap on my back and I’m blackin’, snatchin’ crowns, I done came back around like a n***a sellin’ crack and pounds/ I got a bag now but it’s nothin’ to brag ’bout

The Dreamville rapper also recently dropped off his “Ambassel” visual a few months ago in steady preparation for his forthcoming The Forever Story project.

It’s been over a year since 21 Savage and Metro Boomin liberated their chart-topping success Savage Mode 2, the sequel to 2016’s Savage Mode. That project saw 15 hard-hitting cuts and additional features from Drake, Young Thug, and Young Nudy. Savage Mode 2 further solidified both talents as two of the best in the game, landing them at the top spot on the Billboard 200 thanks to 171,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week of release — the album has also crossed the Gold mark. Since then, the Atlanta emcee has continued to remain a rap frontrunner by releasing an EP in support of the film Spiral and contributing spotlight-stealing verses for songs by T.I., Drake, YBN Nahmir, Pooh Shiesty, DJ Khaled, G Herbo, and more.

Last year, Yung Baby Tate unleashed the deluxe version of her 2020 project After The Rain. The project included seven new tracks and features from Flo Milli and 6lack. More recently, she celebrated her new deal with Warner Records by releasing her brand new singles like “Pedi” and “Dungarees.”
