This has been one hell of a Friday, seriously. With the onslaught of new music flooding the internet, no one really expected for 21 Savage and Metro Boomin to deliver the way they just did with the release of their highly anticipated project Savage Mode II. It’s almost like they’ve had this evil genius plan to kickstart spooky season with Halloween vastly approaching — and we are here for it!

The duo has proven themselves to be a force not to be reckoned with and their latest drop does nothing but further solidifies this fact. Despite all of the world’s shortcomings and tragedies so far, Savage and Metro just played a pivotal role in helping save 2020 with this one.

Earlier this week on Monday evening, news got out that the duo were releasing the sequel to their 2016 classic Savage Mode. As the internet nearly broke upon the announcement, we were shocked finding out that Savage Mode II included another surprise — a full narration by the one and only Morgan Freeman. In the captivating promo clip (directed by none other than the great Gibson Hazard), the legendary actor and narrator single handedly raised the hype with his distinctive voice as he defines the words SAVAGE and MODE before the music previewed:

“Savage is defined as fierce, beastly, and untamed. Mode is defined as a way of operating or using the system. So to be in Savage Mode, is to go hard not allowing anything to stop or deter you from your mission. Basically, this means when someone is in Savage Mode…….they are not to be fucked with”

Savage Mode II is packed with an immaculate 15 records that we’re quite positive will be on repeat for quite some time. Lend your ears to 21 Savage and Metro Boomin’s latest masterpiece below. Happy (early) Halloween!
