It’s the fifth year 21 Savage has been holding his annual Issa Back 2 School Drive and not only did the rap star give out the usual bookbag, pencils, and pen items, he gave away laptops and masks too.

The Atlanta native, born Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, joined forces with Leading By Example Foundation, in partnership with Chime, and He also partnered with Black Voters Matter and M.O.B.B. (March On Ballot Boxes) to offer voter registration.

Guests over 18 were able to register to vote through Black Voters Matter Fund, in partnership with M.O.B.B, using contactless technology and paper for those without official Georgia IDs.

The generous donation went to DeKalb students and took place at the Glenwood Road Flea Market in Decatur, Georgia, FOX 5 reports.

In July, 21 Savage and Chime came together for their Bank Account at Home initiative as a response to the pandemic. The program also offers free financial literacy lessons.

Last year his school drive brought out over 2,300 students. This year even more attended.

The “Bank Account” star has been very active in is effort to educate the youth on finances and becoming responsible spenders.

“For most kids, the focus is on earning money,” he said in a statement last year about his digital curriculum on his website Get Schooled. “And while that is important, to really get ahead you need to know how to manage your money, not just make it. As I have gotten smarter about financial management, I realize how important it is to control your money rather than be controlled by it. I want to help kids with a background similar to mine to get smart about their money.”

The new school year for DeKalb County kids starts on Monday, Aug. 17. It’s one of many school districts in the nation open for the Fall semester despite COVID-19 concerns.
