Come Oct. 22, Wale will unveil his latest body of work Folarin II, which will contain 16 tracks and the previously released singles “Angles” with Chris Brown and “Down South” with Maxo Kream and Yella Beezy. Last week, he added to that with the indisputable hit “Poke It Out,” his first collaboration alongside fellow XXL Freshman alum J. Cole in three years. Produced by Cool & Dre, “Poke It Out” also acts as a reminder to those unaware that Wale and Cole are still two of the best in the game:

“My regards to the broads that thought I was done, pick a side, pick a side and die on the joint, I been lettin’ things slide, they tryin’ too hard, ’cause I ain’t left the city once, still travel abroad, nigga, I’m back on my boss shit, the stick in the Honda Civic, we in the car service, I really just mind my business and pray that God sort ‘em, can’t really be long winded, you talkin’ short money, today, we not cost cuttin’…”

Directed by LCR$, the accompanying clip for “Poke It Out” sees Wale riding throughout the city that created him with some attractive passengers. Elsewhere, he connects with a bevy of beautiful women at a campsite, where a party is clearly in session. Cole eventually makes his appearance for the video, vibing with his D.C. counterpart in a colorfully lit room while his performance in interspersed with even more eye candy. Expect to press play on this more than a few times after first watching it.

As previously reported on REVOLT, “Poke It Out” follows several other songs created by Wale and J. Cole, including the top tier cuts “Beautiful Bliss,” “Rather Be (Vagina Is For Lovers),” “You Got It,” “Bad Girls Club,” “Winter Schemes,” “The Pessimist,” and “My Boy (Freestyle).” The DMV-to-Fayetteville connection have also provided their talents for tracks by Yo Gotti, Red Cafe, (Bei) Maejor, and — of course — Wale’s Maybach Music collective.
