Today (Oct. 1), Headie One liberates his new body of work Too Loyal for My Own Good, which comes with 13 new tracks and zero features. The project was led by the well-received singles “2 Chains,” “Beggars Can’t Be Choosers,” and — just before its release — “Cry,” which also saw a celebratory visual to match its “toast to life” subject matter:

“All I ever wanted was some progress, everything above and beyond is a bonus…”

Too Loyal for My Own Good follows last October’s debut LP Edna, which contained 20 cuts and contributions from Kaash Paige, M Huncho, AJ Tracey, Stormzy, Young Adz, Future, Drake, Skepta, and loads more. The project was considered both a critical and commercial success, earning Headie One a number one placement on the UK Albums chart thanks to roughly 15,000 first-week album equivalent units sold. This past February, the Tottenham emcee upgraded the Silver certified masterpiece with a deluxe edition, adding on eight additional songs and high-end collaborations alongside the likes of RV, Rich The Kid, and Burna Boy.

In addition to his own work, the last couple of years have seen Headie One becoming a hot commodity as a featured artist, beginning with Young T & Bugsey’s runaway hit single “Don’t Rush.” Since then, he’s provided his unique style of raps for songs like FKA twigs’ “Don’t Judge Me,” King Promise’s “Ring My Line,” M1llionz’s “Air BnB,” and Fredo’s “Wandsworth to Bullingdon” — true detectives can even catch an extremely brief but memorable (and uncredited) appearance on Dave and Stormzy’s We’re All Alone In This Together standout “Clash.”

Fans can also pick up some of Headie One’s album merch from two different places — via Headie’s official website (where you can even buy some of his cologne) and through streetwear design imprint Marino Morwood.
