Only two weeks after the release of his Zapp & Roger sampling “Cannon,” Compton’s very own YS is back with another collaboration with platinum-certified producer Helluva. The freshly released “Play 4 Keeps” single boasts a guest appearance from EST Gee. In the new Ben Marc-directed accompanying visual, the two are surrounded by their respective crews as the hard-hitting opening lines play:

All my n***as play for keeps, these n***as don’t be outside, and we ain’t never heard of you/ But they know that we them guys, my n***as’ll swerve on you and murder you, ain’t heard of you/ I ride with a dirty tool and I do ‘em dirty too

Send him to the Lord, we do it fast, we do it urgent too he reach for the bread, if he don’t die, he in the urgent, fool/ N***a, throw yo’ gang in the sky if you gone ride for it, n***a, throw yo’ gang in the air if you gone die for it/ If you ain’t the guy for the job, don’t apply for it

So far in 2021, YS also dropped off singles like “Hate Me” alongside Babyface Ray and Fenix Flexin, “Boomerang” featuring Snap Dogg, and “Blind Side.” In terms of his background, by 19, he released bonafide hit “Bompton,” a hard-hitting Trayvon Jackson-produced hometown anthem that scored neighborhood recognition and caught the attention of Alamo Records. Later, a remix of the viral smash — aided by features by 1TakeJay, Shoreline Mafia’s Ohgeesy and Fredo Bang — ushered in YS’s 13-track debut project, Street Dreams.

EST Gee just dropped off his LP Bigger Than Life Or Death earlier this year, having already liberated appetizers like “Lick Back,” “Capitol 1,” and the album’s title track beforehand. The project contains contains 15 tracks with additional assists from Future, Young Thug, Lil Durk, Yo Gotti, and Pooh Shiesty, and more. Bigger Than Life Or Death follows last December’s I Still Dont Feel Nun.
