It’s officially been a year since M24 delivered the exceptional release Drip N Drill, which saw 12 high quality cuts with additional features from Stickz, Tookie, M Dargg, and Sneakbo. Since then, he’s continued to supply the masses with heat like “High Right Now,” “Banknot,” and “Letter To My Son” — he’s also provided his brand of bars for peers like Real Artillery, The Plug, Fumez The Engineer, and Kenny Allstar.
This past week (August 19), the Brixton talent liberated his latest single “Back In Blood,” a hard-hitting effort that sees production from Lekaa Beats and presumably takes inspiration from Pooh Shiesty and Lil Durk’s collaboration of the same name, especially in regards to its street-oriented subject matter:
“Every doubt here, M24 in a score up, I hear M24 on none, no, I was tryna explore that block like Dora, borer, back that out on a run, punctured the 6 in my walls like Dracos, doin’ that shit for fun, and I ain’t got wings like Lekaa, you should’ve seen the way that boy got done, I stepped in, lookin’ like money, no stepped in, lookin’ all cruddy, talks in the bait like ‘Where does he snipes?,’ now, his trainers lookin’ all bloody, FG slashed him, done him up ugly…”
Directed by Toxic and Biker1arda, the accompanying clip for “Back In Blood” sees M24 in the throws of Kingston, Jamaica, all while audio of him speaking to his now-freed mate JBandz can be heard in the background. During the day, he’s out on the block performing the track with the locals surrounding him — things then switch to night, where he can then be seen mobbing heavy with his crew. Unrelated, it’s pretty dope to see the presence of bike culture alive and well throughout.
