Back in November, Pooh Shiesty enlisted Lil Durk for their collaboration track “Back in Blood.” The new freshly released music video features scenes of them partying with their respective crews, and even includes a scene of the late fallen soldier King Von. In the murky-themed song, they mostly discuss murders and their weaponry in their hometowns of Memphis and Chicago:

Bitch, I got my own fire, don’t need security in the club. All that wolfin’ on the net, n***a, I thought you was a thug. I ain’t got nowhere to go, I shot up everywhere they was. Yeah, you know who took that shit from you, come get it back in blood. Bitch, come get it back in blood. We ain’t mask up, no dodger, rich n***as know who it was. Extortin’ shit just like the ‘80s, once I’m back, get it in blood. Yeah, you know who took that shit from you, come get it back in blood.

In 2020, Pooh Shiesty released a slew of singles such as “First Day In LA” and “YANO” with frequent collaborator Foogiano, “Twerksum,” ABCGE” featuring BIG30, and “Monday to Sunday” featuring Lil Baby and BIG30. Just before Christmas, Lil Durk graced the world with his latest project The Voice, which boasts 16 cuts and additional appearances from 6LACK, Young Thug, Booka600, and King Von. The Voice follows Durk’s May release Just Cause Y’all Waited 2, which originally contained 15 tracks and assists from Lil Baby, Polo G, Gunna, and G Herbo.

The Voice went on to land at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 thanks to 57,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week of release. The following month, Durk then liberated a deluxe version of Just Cause Y’all Waited 2 with seven additional cuts. That boost was able to propell the overall body of work to the No. 2 spot via an additional 43,000 album equivalent units sold.
