What a year for Morray thus far. Back in April, he liberated his official debut project Street Sermons, which contained 13 top quality cuts from the Fayetteville talent — including last year’s “Quicksand,” the song that effectively pushed him to the forefront of hip hop. He also joined the likes of Flo Milli, Pooh Shiesty, Toosii, Coi Leray, and Blxst as the latest inductee into XXL Freshman class, further raising his profile. This fall, he’ll also be joining his “m y . l i f e” collaborators J. Cole and 21 Savage on “The Off-Season” tour.

Today (July 29), Morray keeps the momentum going by dropped off a remix of his Street Sermons standout “Trenches,” which now sees an assist from Polo G — who makes sure to add to the song’s heavy subject matter with hymns of his own:

“Grew up in the ghetto, know some savages with good hearts, he smokin’ on dead niggas every time that wood spark, remember I was fucked up, now my foreign in the hood parked, you can beat the system if you street and book smart, checkmate, posted on them corners, he’s just waitin’ on his death date, they went left on the road to riches, so I thank the Lord, I kept straight…”

Polo G has been enjoying 2020 as well, much in part thanks to the release of his third studio LP Hall of Fame in June. That body of work saw 20 hard-hitting cuts and contributions from The Kid LAROI, Lil Durk, Lil Wayne, G Herbo, Rod Wave, Young Thug, Roddy Ricch, Nicki Minaj, and more. Hall of Fame also earned Polo G his first number one on the Billboard 200 thanks to 143,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week out.

Press play on the video for Morray and Polo G’s “Trenches (Remix).”
