With the season of endless vibes among us, D.C. artist Goldlink arrives just in the nick of time to bring forth some new tunes for the summer. It was his debut mixtape, The God Complex ( released in 2014) that started his immense musical run. Keeping this in mind, it was his noteworthy and infectious single “Crew” (featuring Brent Faiyaz and Shy Glizzy) that took his name to new heights as it took over the entire 2016. Often times when people think of artists from the DMV, the first names that come to mind include Wale, Oddisee and others. Today, Goldlink further cements his ongoing legacy with the release of his LP HARAM.

When he announced the album’s arrival on June 10th, Goldlink has just chosen violence with Harlem rapper Sheck Wes on Twitter the day before. “FUKK U SHECK WES. IMA DRINK SOME CACTI AND SPIT ON YOUR WHITE TEE YOU DIRTY BUTT NIGGA.” he said. He then continued “HAHAHAHHAHHAHAHA HE SO UGLY” followed up with “AND SHECK IT AINT MY FAULT DAT YA MEN JUMPED OUT, GOT SPANKED THEN YA MANS GOT SHOT.” While it’s unclear what the underlying issue is between the two artists, some could argue that it’s nothing more than a marketing tactic by Goldlink to boost streams and sales.

To add some extra anticipation for the project, Goldlink dropped off a new single “White Walls.” The DMV artist described the bass-heavy track as “destructive,” in a statement, going on to add: “it’s ‘wrong. it sounds crazy + it’s a pop song. PLAY IT LOUD!”

Spanning over a total of 15 records, the rapper tapped on some features for majority of the jam packed album (12 songs have features): NLE Choppa, Rich The Kid, Flo Milli, Santigold, and many more! If you’re reading this, press play on HARAM and spread the word.
