Two of the current hottest voices in hip-hop, Lil Baby and Lil Durk, have just officially shared the highly-anticipated lead single “Voice Of The Heroes” from their upcoming joint project The Voice Of The Heroes. The project is set to hit streaming services this Friday (June 4). The release is accompanied by a new Daps-directed video that follows Lil Baby and Lil Durk in the streets of Baby’s hometown of Oakland City in Atlanta as Durk opens up the track with his raw and vulnerable bars:

Missed out on my kids life for a year and I gotta accept it/ Certain days n***as never came to my shows and I felt neglected/ Growin’ up, seein’ my uncle dyin’ in his bed, that shit made me reckless/

Pourin’ up and I ain’t never sharin’ my meds, and I ain’t bein’ extra, and I paid like two of my niggas bonds before I bought a necklace/ I done seen my brother stack his bricks up and it look like Tetris/ Havin’ real shootout up on the e-way, you can’t miss your exit

In terms of Lil Baby-related news, he recently added to his trophy case last week at the 2021 iHeartRadio awards, bringing home the award for Hip-Hop Album Of The Year. He’s continuing his hot streak from last year, beginning with My Turn, a body of work that topped the Billboard 200 chart comfortably with 197,000 first week album equivalent units sold. The Atlanta star later kept that momentum going with My Turn (Deluxe), which added on seven more cuts — including the smash hits “We Paid” and “The Bigger Picture.”

Most recently, Durk joined A Boogie for their freshly released collab track “Just before Christmas, Lil Durk graced the world with his latest project The Voice, which boasts 16 cuts and additional appearances from 6LACKYoung Thug, Booka600, and King Von. The following month, Durk then liberated a deluxe version of Just Cause Y’all Waited 2 with seven additional cuts. More recently, he assisted Coi Leray on the remix of her viral hit “No More Parties” and he also recreated the most iconic Kanye West moments in his “Kanye Krazy” video.
