With DMX’s posthumous album dropping in two weeks, Swizz Beatz has been hosting listening sessions to see what people think of the project ahead of its release. On Thursday (May 13), he held a session for DJs and music industry insiders, and according to tweets from those in attendance, Exodus is a project worth looking forward to.

“I had privilege of being invited to listening party (virtual) for DMX new album,” tweeted Tony Hanes of the sports and entertainment website DA DOME. “This was the perfect LP for his legacy…Dope production. Y’all going to love it if you love DMX.”

“The new DMX album is incredible,” added DJ Mr. Peter Parker. “Brought me to tears on the Heavy Hitters Zoom call…Shit’s really dope.”

Both individuals confirmed previously reported features like Snoop Dogg, The LOX, Bono, Alicia Keys, Lil Wayne and Griselda. A few other tweets noted there was also a surprise collaboration between JAY-Z and Nas, who recently appeared together on DJ Khaled’s “SORRY NOT SORRY.”

“This DMX featuring JAY-Z and Nas!!!” wrote DJ E Dubble, Joyner Lucas’ official DJ. “DMX x JAY Z x NAS TRACK IS CRAZY,” read another tweet.

In another shocking twist, Hanes mentioned that the song with Pop Smoke — who DMX previously revealed as a feature — will no longer be making an appearance on the album. “It didn’t make the cut because of a situation, but Swizz didn’t go into detail,” he told a follower who asked about that specific track.

Swizz played X’s album for his family and friends, and later followed up with another “epic listening session” in New York. He previously referred to X’s album as a “well deserved masterpiece.” Per his Instagram post about the New York event, “The streets approve.”

Exodus is slated to come out on May 28.
