This past weekend saw the Grammy Awards make a big return via virtual format, with a slew of musical frontrunners getting creative for their performances. One of the artists present was Roddy Ricch, who delivered a dope rendition of his hit single “The Box” and debuted another titled “Heartless,” complete with a backing band while Ricch handled piano duties.

Now, fans are able to enjoy “Heartless (Live From LA)” via their favorite streaming platform. Produced by Mason Wu, Str8cash, and YC, “Heartless” sees Ricch harmonizing about how his upbringing made him who he is today, and how he’s been dealing with life post-fame:

“This life left me heartless, bitch, I came from apartments, the money turned me to a target, got a Hellcat Dodge it, I hope you lookin’ down on me, I hope you’re proud of me, main reason a 9 millimeter gotta ride with me/

‘Specially ‘cause I got a lil’ one one, ‘specially ‘cause I got an OG, ‘specially ‘cause I gotta go home, ‘specially ‘cause I gotta get this cheese…/”

Back in December of 2019, Roddy Ricch liberated his official debut LP Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial, which saw 16 tracks and additional appearances from Gunna, Lil Durk, Meek Mill, Mustard, Ty Dolla $ign, and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. Antisocial was a massive success for the Compton rapper, landing at number one on the Billboard 200 thanks to 101,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week out — to date, the album has also been certified as double Platinum.

Thanks to his own musical achievement, Ricch has also become a hot commodity for his peers, appearing on hit records like Nipsey Hussle’s “Racks In The Middle,” NLE Choppa’s “Walk Em Down,” Pop Smoke’s “The Woo,” and DaBaby’s “Rockstar,” the last of which has earned a plethora of Platinum plaques around the world.
