After some short waiting, fans are now able to listen to Chip’s new mixtape Snakes & Ladders, a 21-track affair with star-studded appearances from Dizzee Rascal, Jme, Bugzy Malone, Headie One, Mavado, Young Adz, Young M.A, D-Block Europe, and more. The project was preceded by visuals for “Ignite,” “Lumidee,” Chip’s ode to Black The Ripper “0420,” and the Stormzy diss tracks “Killer MC” and “Flowers.”

Accompanying Snakes & Ladders is a new video for the standout track “100K,” which features fellow Londoner MoStack and sees the two flexing their non-fiction lifestyle over production from The Fumes:

“Gas on the mic, about you keep it a hundred? You ain’t had a hundred racks in your life, if I don’t say what it ain’t, bet you I’ll say what it is, being broke ain’t a problem, nah, but stayin’ it is/

I got the fire, stop, drop, and roll, bad bitch get copped and go, if you wanna fuck me, fuck bro, and don’t ask for the WiFi code, mood every day, leave me alone…/”

The accompanying clip for the drill-styled cut begins and ends with a snake – an obvious reference to Chip’s mixtape — before showing the collaborators in a warehouse setting with their crew and a show-stealing dancer. It’s a simple-yet-very effective video that allows the spotlight to stay squarely on the clever, top quality lyrics that the artists provide.

Back in March, Chip teamed up with Skepta and Young Adz for the collaborative album Insomnia, which debuted at the number three spot on the UK Albums chart, making it a third top ten entry for both Chip and Skepta — it’s also Adz’s first solo and fourth as part of D-Block Europe. Prior to that, Chip dropped the well-received LP Ten10 in 2018.
