Back in October, Dizzee Rascal released his seventh studio album E3 AF, which boasted 10 cuts and additional appearances from P Money, D Double E, Frisco, Chip, Kano, Ghetts, Steel Banglez, Smoke Boys, and more. This week, the hip hop and grime legend unveils a new visual for the album cut “Don’t Be Dumb,” which features an assist from Ocean Wisdom and sees the two emcees delivering boastful rhymes at lightning speed:

“Yo blud, I’m confused and I’m unamused, you don’t wanna see me come through with the one-two, some sort of Kung Fu, anything fun for you, I’m gonna undo, yeah, I’m gonna Sun you/

Not hot-cross when I say I’m gonna bun you, ell me one thing that I said that is untrue, couldn’t give a toss, ain’t taking a loss, I’m a boss for you dumb yutes/”

The video comes courtesy of Louis Mackay and seems to call upon Busta Rhymes’ wacky clips of old. Viewers can see a brain in water, a house-and-sky set reminiscent of “Gimme Some More,” a forest-esque performance scene, and other unorthodox ingredients of that nature.

“Don’t Be Dumb” follows previously released visuals from E3 AF for “Act Like You Know” and “Body Loose,” along with the Ella Eyre-assisted remix of the latter. 2020 also saw Dizzee contributing his talents to Big Tobz’s “Smoke,” Silque’s “Riot,” and Chip’s “Ignite.”

In addition to his music releases, last year also saw Dizzee Rascal earn an MBE — or Member of the Most Excellent Order, an honor delivering via the Queen of the United Kingdom as part of the Order of the British Empire — for his contributions to British music. He shared his achievement on social media just prior to E3 AF’s release.
