Every now and then, Rick Ross hops on Instagram to crack a few jokes and vocalize his opinions on current topics. Today (Sept. 25) was no different as he used the social media platform to call out Tory Lanez.

The Canadian singer released his Daystar EP with songs that addressed his relationship with Megan Thee Stallion and his perspective of the night that she got shot. After learning Tory put out an album regarding the incident, Ross shared a series of posts on his Instagram Story denouncing the move.

Tory Lanez, poor decision brother,” he began. “Dropping that project…Just outta respect for Breonna Taylor, bruh, we gotta respect these sisters. That ain’t how you address the accusations you facing. That was a poor choice, homie. You ain’t getting no money with that shit.”

Later in the day, Ross poked fun at Tory, joking that Daystar wouldn’t stream well considering its context.

“Ay, I just bought a car for Tory Lanez, I got a gift for your album release homie,” he said as he showed off a Smart car. “Heard your shit just went double acrylic on Dat Piff.”

Back in July, Megan revealed she was shot in her feet, but failed to name the gunman responsible for her injuries. Her name and image were in headlines and became the focus of endless jokes and memes, but when social media users questioned the validity of her account, she decided to confirm that Tory was the shooter.

Tory’s project is the first time he’s ever addressed the allegations, but his decision to capitalize off of Megan’s pain just days after none of the officers in the Breonna Taylor case were charged with murder bothered Ross and a few other people as well.

NBA player Nick Young tweeted, “After all the cool shit Tory did for the COVID[-19] lockdown, who came up with that idea last night?…Fire them…It’s ova.”

Bun B, who has continuously supported Megan, reposted Mysonne’s post about Tory’s new music. “First, Daniel Cameron gives that bullshit decision about Breonna Taylor’s murders. Now, Tory Lanez makes a diss record about Megan after he shot her. Black men we gotta do better,” the post read.
