After joining Def Jam Recordings as an executive creative and strategic consultant this June, Snoop Dogg is ready to share a new album through the label. While appearing on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Monday (Sept. 27), the Long Beach native announced his 19th studio album, Algorithm. The LP is set to arrive this November and will feature “a lot of big name acts,” he said.

Snoop also revealed he’s working on a Def Jam project for kids.

“I was a fan of Def Jam Records as a kid,” the 49-year-old told Fallon. “And knowing the talent that they have over there and the opportunity that was waiting on me, I wanted to go over there and give a lot of opportunity to the artists over there to get some information, some wisdom and some guidance from me and then also develop some new acts and give some opportunity.”

“So, Def Jam was the perfect place for me, considering how much I love it and how much it means to hip hop and how it really needed somebody like me to come and change the energy of the building,” he continued. “I’m over there for one reason: to get the music back poppin’ and to make the people feel like they’re supposed to feel.”

Elsewhere during the chat, Snoop also discussed his new role as Pastor Swift on 50 Cent’s “Black Mafia Family” series, which just premiered this week on Starz.

“I’m a manifester, Jimmy,” Snoop said of the role. “I spoke on it and it came to life.”

50 Cent was initially cast to play Pastor Swift, but ended up taking himself out of the running because he was too busy with his other TV endeavors.
