Days after debates about rap’s Mount Rushmore dominated social media, Fetty Wap is staking his claim as one of the four faces on a new list: the Mt. Rushmore for Soundcloud rappers.

Over the weekend, RapTV posted a photo that featured Juice WRLD, Lil Uzi Vert and XXXTentacion. A question on the image posed the following question: “Who deserves the 4th spot on the Soundcloud Mount Rushmore?”

Social media users commented with suggestions like Lil Peep, Ski Mask the Slump God and Playboi Carti, but Fetty Wap believes he’s deserving of the final spot because he helped to kick off the whole Soundcloud era.

“Soundcloud day was lit, he wrote. “2015 I think I kick this shit off fr.” In another post, he added, “I’m really the Soundcloud goat...Y’all niggas trippin…Maybe y’all forgot…‘Trap Queen’ the reason niggas started a Soundcloud.”

Conversations about the top rappers of different eras started days ago when Rap Caviar asked fans to name an emcee worthy enough to be mentioned alongside Drake, Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole — artists who are considered G.O.A.T.s of the 2010s. After several heated exchanges, Nicki Minaj was voted into the final spot over Kanye West, Future and her mentor, Lil Wayne.

A succeeding list of the top best emcees of the year also sparked some impassioned responses. As REVOLT previously reported, Jim Jones didn’t agree with his placement as the final person on journalist Brian “B. Dot” Miller’s list of rappers, so he issued a challenge against the artists placed before him.

Additionally, Conway The Machine, who was fourth on the list, said he wants smoke with anyone interested in battling him.

“I see a lot [of] rappers mad about that list and makin posts and issuing challenges,” he tweeted. “Listen the machine don’t duck NO reck…Just @ me or DM me and say u want smoke, and u can get handled quick and clean (Chris from ‘The Wire’ voice), and that’s goes for ANYBODY.”
