XXXTentacion’s unreleased songs will be released as NFTs

Sales for XXX’s NFT pack will start on Monday (May 10) at 12 p.m. ET.

XXX Tentacion Jack McKain

Since XXXTentacion’s untimely death in 2018, his estate has been keeping his name alive with posthumous drops of some of the songs he recorded while he was still here. With a lot more of his unreleased songs in their possession, they’ve decided to continue with the releases, but this time they’re doing it NFT style.

As Complex reported, XXX’s estate — which is run by his mother, Cleopatra Bernard — and his former manager, Solomon “Sounds” Sobande, will release some of his songs as non-fungible tokens alongside some new footage from the REVENGE tour, his last tour ever. The featured records are songs from his Soundcloud days that he never got the chance to monetize.

The artwork for the NFT will be a creation by Grand Theft Auto designer Stephen Bliss.

XXX’s estate joins a slew of other artists who have recently made their way into the NFT world. Last month, The Weeknd made his debut in the “NFT space,” selling a collection titled “Acephalous” that featured new music, audio-visual pieces and limited edition art — a collaboration between the Toronto star and LA-based design team Strangeloop Studios.

Eminem sold digital comics, original instrumental beats and action figures on the NFT marketplace Nifty Gateway during an exclusive “Shady Con” event.

Ja Rule even sold a 48″ x 60″ Fyre Festival painting to an anonymous buyer through the NFT platform Flipkick for $122,000. The artwork included a handwritten note that expressed his desire to get it rid of it. “Fuck this painting,” the note read.

Sales for XXX’s NFT pack will start on Monday (May 10) at 12 p.m. ET and will end the following Saturday (May 15) at noon E.T. The sale can potentially earn him more money than a typical release. Proceeds, however, will not be kept by the estate. They will be sent to the XXXFoundation and a few domestic violence organizations.
