At the very top of next month, Meek Mill is set to release his next studio album Expensive Pain. The roll out is well underway and it kicked off with Meek unleashing his “Blue Notes 2” single featuring Lil Uzi Vert earlier this month. The two Philly stars felt the track deserved a live performance, so they linked up last night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and delivered a high-energy rendition of the track as they bounced off each other’s energy flawlessly while the hard-hitting bars played:

I’m not in competition with my homies, I’m whippin’ the competition and the Rollie/ I knew my opposition never knew me, they wouldn’t be opposition if they know me/ I made a proposition to my hitters, I told them to knock ‘em down if you owe me/

I just be slidin’ ‘round, hittin’ the building, we movin’ with Glock, pounds, and them .40s/ Them n***as got shot down, we was whorin’ my homie a opp now, so we on him/ I was like sixteen with the MAC on me

It’s been three years since Meek Mill’s fourth LP Championships, which saw 19 tracks with a slew of contributions from Cardi B, JAY-Z, Rick Ross, Future, Roddy Ricch, Young Thug, Drake, Kodak Black, 21 Savage, and more. More recently, he shared his 4-song Quarantine Pack last year, along with loose cuts like “Flamerz Flow” and “War Stories.” Meek also joined in on the standout cut “Still Runnin.”

In terms of other recent collabs, Lil Uzi Vert joined Isaiah Rashad for his “From The Garden” video and also assisted Trippie Redd for “Holy Smokes.” Last year, the Philly native gave fans clues about his forthcoming album. He said that the project was “coming soon” and promised it would sound like “old Uzi music.
