VanJess’ beloved “Slow Down” track just got a deluxe upgrade as fellow R&B favorite Lucky Day slides in for a smooth assist. Today (Aug 13), the duo has unleashed an official remix of the stand-out track from their Homegrown EP from earlier this year. On the freshly released version, Lucky adds his flare to the song with new opener:

Got me takin’ my time, pressin’ rewind, just to make the moment longer (Oh, oh)/ Can you slow down the time? Like from nine to nine, love how you’ve been makin’ me stronger/ Inch by inch, ‘cause you sit on my lips, smell the flowers, got me confidin’/ I never could fight it, higher power

VanJess aforementioned Homegrown EP arrived filled with nine smooth R&B cuts and a great list of assist from names like Phony Ppl, Jimi Tents, Garren, and Devin Morrison. Leading up to the release, they gave a teaser with the Jimi Tents and Garren-assisted “Curious” single. Their last full-length project was Silk Canvas in 2018, and the following year they would go on to release a project titled Silk Canvas (The Remixes). The latter body of work is filled with reimagined versions of their Silk Canvas hits, and the roster of features boasts names like Ari Lennox, Saba, Bas, and Xavier Omar. The original project included assists from Masego, Goldlink, Little Simz, Berhana, and Leikeli47.

In terms of other recent collabs from Lucky Daye, he appeared on Sinéad Harnett’s sophomore album Ready Is Always Too Late and also assisted BJ The Chicago Kid for “Make You Feel Good.” Earlier this year, Lucky Daye released his Table For Two EP, which features assists from Mahalia, Ari Lennox, Queen Naija, and Joyce Wrice. In 2019, Lucky Daye shared his Painted project back in 2019, a featureless project that boasts his mega-hit “Roll Some Mo” and also cuts like “Late Night” and “Karma.” The following year, he added six additional tracks and presented a deluxe version of the project.
